All activities are guided by our experienced and friendly staff

Each student will be encouraged to try different types of activities because we believe that growth and learning are critical to developing a strong foundation of self-confidence. Our activities not only help foster positive group dynamics, but also help students understand that everyone has their own unique strengths and abilities. Contact us for further information.?

LAKE ACTIVITIES

Iluka is the ultimate school camp location. As well as 36 acres of land to explore, children will have lots of fun on lake Iluka. There’s lake activities for all age groups, maturity and skill levels, plus it gives students the opportunity to learn water based activities in a calm and safe environment. The more competent students can explore the lake and Croaky Island by canoe, raft or SUP.

STAND UP PADDLING

Learning the skills of stand-up paddle boarding, water safety. Along with various games throughout the session. an enjoyable activity that tests the individual’s basic skills and abilities.

CANOEING

Groups are taught the skills of canoeing through a short brief, followed by a skills session on the water teaching them paddle and basic canoe skills.

RAFT BUILDING

Groups are presented with ropes, timber, pipes and some basic tips and information on raft building. Participants must work together in teams to construct a raft, which is launched on the water at the end of the activity.

CHALLENGE COURSE

Our challenge course activities encourage teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving through fun and engaging physical challenges. Designed for all abilities, these activities build confidence, communication skills, and a strong sense of achievement in a supportive outdoor setting

An activity designed to challenge all participants both mentally and physically, whether it is working together or individually to complete all the obstacles that stand in the way.

TREE CLIMBING

This is an opportunity for your students get in touch with nature by climbing a tree in a supportive environment. The participant is harnessed and belayed by a Qualified Bayplay/Iluka Retreat staff member.

CRATE STACK

An initiative style activity involving the whole group’s participation to assist the climber as they construct and climb a tower using milk crates. The course provides individuals with a personal challenge, within a supportive group environment.

TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES

Our team-building activities are designed to strengthen connections, encourage collaboration, and inspire leadership. Through engaging challenges in nature, groups develop communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deeper sense of teamwork—all while having fun in a beautiful outdoor setting.

BUSH COOKING

The group will learn how to make Damper and cook this over a fire, also be able to forage for seasonal Blackberries to accompany the damper.

NATURE ART

Taking inspiration from renowned artist Andy Goldsworthy, the group using only natural resources eg. Leaves, sticks to create artwork and dream catchers.

RACE AROUND ILUKA

This activity is for groups to race against each other around the camp. It involves problem solving, teamwork and initiative. As a team, participants will be earning points whilst completing various cryptic questions relating to camp.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS

At Iluka, we partner with friendly local experts to offer enriching programs like Indigenous education, yoga, and surfing. These experiences bring unique learning opportunities, connection, and personal growth to our groups.

Learning the skills of surfing through a hands-on experience with Salty Surf School. Can be catered for ages above 8 years old. A fun and enjoyable session for all.
